- Biographical notes
- Active late 14th-early 15th C [1320-1420 CE]. Died in Bursa in 814 AH [1411 CE] (1a f.). Yār ‘Alī was a confidant of and shaykh al-Islam to Qadi Burhan al-Din Ahmad of Sivas . He was also part of the circle of ‘Abd al-Rahman Bistami. Yār ‘Alī’s works reflect the strong interest in Ibn ‘Arabi’s philosophy as interpreted by Sadr al-Din Qunawi that is typical of the period. An important overview of his intellectual interests is the majmu‘a in is hand preserved as , discussed by (Peacock, A.C.S.. "Islamic Literature and Intellectual Life in Fourteenth- and Fifteenth-Century Anatolia." In Metaphysics and rulership in late fourteenth century Central Anatolia: Qadi Burhan al-Din of Sivas and his Iksir al-Sa’adat. Yɪldız, Sara Nur, ed. Würzburg: 2016, 101-136.).
