Miftāḥ al-jafr al-jāmi‘
Although in some respects Bistami’s most famous work, it is a problematic text, for no copy earlier than the 16th century appears to survive. The work consists of a series of apocalypses allegedly circulating in the early fifteenth century, predicting the victory of the Turks over Christian peoples. However, Bistami refers to having composed two versions of the work before the 1440s in his Durrat tāj al-rasā’il wa-ghurrat minhāj al-wasā’Il, درة تاج الرسائل وغرة منهاج الوسائل. The work is a treatise on jafr with an undoubtedly complex manuscript tradition.
