Composed in Konya shortly 655, and dedicated to Seljuk sultan
‘Izz al-Dīn
Kaykā’us II, this work represents a sort of mirror for princes, which
also draws heavily on the author’s expertise at both ‘aqlī and naqlī sciences. Show more
An abridgement of Faḵr al-Dīn
Rāzī’s al-Arba‘in. According to
colophon of Esad Efendi, n. 1276, this was
composed in Muharram 648. If so it
was presumably composed in Cairo, as
this precedes Urmawī’s arrival in Konya.
The attribution is found in Ali Rıza Karabulut, İstanbul ve Anadolu
Kütüphanelerinde Mevcut El Yazması Eserler Ansiklopedisi (Kayseri, nd), vol. 3:
1493. Karabulut also lists Corum 1071/1, dated 686, as a ms of this work. No author is
mentioned in the Şehid Ali Pasa ms.
