Notes
Prose translation from Persian of the Bakhtiyārnāmah (the History of the Ten Viziers), done possibly in the late 14th century [1300-1399 CE] or early 15th century [1400-1499 CE] by an unknown translator. It is very faithful to the Persian versions of the Bakhtiyārnāmah. The frame story consists of the efforts of a sultan’s not yet identified son to save himself from execution by telling ten stories on ten consecutive days.
