- The work is a compendium of legal opinions (fatāwā) based on al-Fatāwā al-Ṣughrā (الفتاوى الصغرى) ascribed to Najm al-Dīn al-Khāṣī, نجم الدين الخاصي, and the fatwas of Sirāj al-Dīn al-Ashī, سراج الدين الاشي. The book is intended as a convenient compendium for jurists (faqihs) so they do not have to carry lots of books around when travelling: وارجو ان يستغني الفقيه باستصحابه عن حمل الكتب الكبار واستصحاب الاسفار في الاسفار وسميته منية المفتي. The work opens with opinions on ritual purity (ṭahāra), before preceding to deal with prayer, zakat, hajj and so on. Siraj al-Din al-Ashi’s opinons are clearly differentiated throughout the work being marked with a sīn (س). Show more
