Ḥāshiya ‘alā al-fawā’id al-ḍiyā’iyya (Wajīh al-Dīn ‘Umar b. ‘Abd al-Muḥsin al-Arzinjānī, active ‏14th century)
Author
Wajīh al-Dīn ‘Umar b. ‘Abd al-Muḥsin al-Arzinjānī, active ‏14th century
وجيه الدين بن عمر بن عبد المحسن الارزنجاني
Biographical notes
In his works the author simply refers to himself as ‘Umar b. ‘Abd al-Muḥsin al-Arzinjānī; the full form of his name is recorded in the ijaza on fol. Nothing is known of this author other than what can be gleaned from his works. It appears certain that he was a resident of Erzincan, as his nisba suggests, for that is where an autograph ms was copied (Carullah 1623). His works suggest he was a Hanafi faqih and a Sufi.

Notes
A commentary on the work by ʻUthmān ibn ʻUmar Ibn al-Ḥājib 1175-1249, entitled al-Fawā’id al-Ḍiyā’iyya is attributed to Wajīh al-Dīn ‘Umar b. ‘Abd al-Muḥsin al-Arzinjānī, active ‏14th century; see (Brockelmann, Carl. Geschichte der arabischen Litteratur. Supplementband. Leiden: Brill, 1937., pp. 534) , and the Süleymaniye catalogues; however this seems to be a confusion with another author, Wajīh al-Dīn ‘Ali al-Jāmī, وجيه الدين علي الجامي, whose name appears in the manuscripts, all of which date to the 16th or 17th centuries: Berlin Oct 2420 (Mentioned by Brockelman, see (Brockelmann, Carl. Geschichte der arabischen Litteratur. Supplementband. Leiden: Brill, 1937., pp. 534))
