- Nothing is known of the life of this author Ḥamid Anguri. His nisba indicates he may have been a native of Ankara. His works suggest a well educated man, at home in both Arabic and Persian.

- The work, a verse dictionary of Persian comprised of 35 qiṭ‘as in 550 bayts in a variety of metres, was composed in imitation of the works of the poets Badr al-Dīn al-Farāhī and Husam al-Dīn al-Khūyī حسام الدين خوئى، حسن بن عبد المؤمنaccording to the introduction. The author in his introduction expresses the hope that it will become widely read like Husam al-Dīn al-Khūyī حسام الدين خوئى، حسن بن عبد المؤمن’s work the Niṣāb al-Ṣibyān wa Naṣīb al-Fityān.
