Biographical notes

Nothing is known of this author other than the information he gives in his one surviving work. He fled the Khwarazmian or Mongol invasions of Armenia to take refuge with the Seljuq sultan ‘Ala’ al-Din Kayqubad I, to whom he presented his advice work al-Lata’if al-‘Ala’iyya, a mirror for princes.
