Biographical notes
Known to us only from his mirror for princes, the Ḥadāyiq al-Siyar, Yaḥya b. Ṣā‘id tells us that he had been sent to exile in Erzincan for some fifteen years. His treatise was designed as a present to sultan ‘Ala al-Din Kayqubad I for allowing him to return to court.
