- Almost nothing is known of the life of Yazıcızade Ali, beyond that he was evidently active at the court of Murad II, Sultan of the Turks, 1404-1451.

- This monumental history consists of Turkish adaptations of the parts of Rashīd al-Dīn’s Jāmi‘ al-Tawārīkh, Rāvandī’s Rāḥat al-Ṣudūr, and Ibn Bībī’s al-Awāmir al-‘Alā’iyya, covering the history of the Seljuks from their origins in the Oghuz tribe to the fall of the dynasty and the emergence of the Ottomans , who are portrayed as the Seljuks’ legitimate successors. While mainly an adaptation of other works, Yazıcızade Ali’s work also contains much information not available elsewhere, especially for later Seljuk history (see e.g. (Wittek, Paul. "Yazijioghlu Ali on the Christian Turks of the Dobruja." BSOAS. 14, no. 3 1952: 639-668.)).
